tiny tulip

the sun spins circles around the the tiny tulip
the tiny tulip tenses when mentioned among her peers
the silly sunflowers oblivious of her tears
they know not of problems until it becomes theirs

the tiny tulip has the biggest stories from around
she's been to Victoria where the water lilies crowd
she's seen the great fall with her own two eyes
dancing with devils under the flirty fire files

tonight though the lightning strikes real violent
making some melodies like devil's burnt violin
tiny tulip feels a knowing tingling again
tiny tulip tells the raindrops bout her friends

friends...
friends she had to leave
when spring came and she became another seed

carried by the wind...
for miles and miles
tiny tulip talks about her thousand smiles

a thousand smiles...
that's the weight of one tear
that tiny tulip sheds when no one can hear

her muffled cries...
it's been a while
since tiny tulip had her cellphone dial

"so when does it stop?"...
that's what she asks
tiny tulip feels like she's out of masks

she can't create
another face
tiny tulip feels to spaced to be fake

but she prays...
when she says her grace
that tiny tulip will be inside a pretty vase

with other tulips
who aren't so tiny
who've been to hell or a beach in Hawaii

she wants to feel
like she belongs
tiny tulips dreams of that peace as she yawns
